Emirates has resumed daily flights to Lagos in Nigeria from Dubai, bolstering the trade connectivity to one of the major economic hubs in Africa. The cargo airlines offer 300 tonnes of belly-hold cargo capacity in and out every week into key markets such as the UAE, Hong Kong, Bahrain, and Malaysia, supporting Nigerian businesses of commodities such as Kola Nuts, food and beverages among others exporting via the airline’s hub in Dubai. Emirates will import pharmaceuticals, electronics, and general cargo, from the UAE, India, and Hong Kong, thereby making a seamless trade flow between countries. “This has been a long-awaited moment. We are excited to resume operations to Lagos, helping reconnect travellers seamlessly to and through Dubai, coupled with a consistent, world-class experience onboard. We would like to thank the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development and the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, as well as His Excellency Salem Saeed Al Shamsi, Ambassador of UAE, and His Excellency Dr Abdulla Almandoos, Consulate General, UAE in Lagos, for their support. We are looking forward to contributing to the Nigerian aviation industry’s growth and offering travellers and businesses more choice and connectivity to key destinations across our network,” Adnan Kazim, Deputy President & CCO, Emirates Airline, said.
